Bringing Christmas magic to Nefyn

Date: 08/12/2023

A group of young people from the Nefyn in Llŷn have been busy over the past few weeks organizing and promoting a special evening at the Community Hall, Nefyn, where the Welsh language theatre company Mewn Cymeriad will perform their  Christmas show “Nadolig Ddoe a Heddiw”.

The show will take the audience on a magical virtual journey with Celyn and the fairy Hen Ben in search of Christmas. The show will appeal to young and old alike.

The pupils have been working with Andrew Owen, Gethin Jones and Carys Evans from the Gwynedd Youth Service and Rhian Cadwaladr from the Arts Council of Wales' Night Out Young Promoters scheme.

“We have been measuring and taking pictures of the Ganolfan and have been talking to the company, " said 12 year-old Olivia Roberts.

“We will be welcoming the audience, showing them to their seats and selling tickets. We decided on the prices and they are £4 for a child and £6 for adults, " said Kara Murtha, 11 years old.

“I'm excited for this because nothing like this usually happens in Nefyn and I hope a lot of people come to support us,” said Olivia.

The show takes place at the Nefyn Community Centre on 11/12/2023 and starts at 18:30

Tickets are available from Mewn Cymeriad website www.mewncymeriad.cymru
