Coming together to learn more about dementia

A special event will be held by Dementia Gwynedd at Galeri Caernarfon on Wednesday 28 June to raise awareness, learn more about dementia and take part in interactive workshops.

Anyone who wants to know more about dementia will be warmly welcomed to join a program of free events that are available.

The day's program will be as follows:

10:00-16:00 - Relatives photography exhibition

10:30-11:30 - Dementia Friends Session & VR Experience

 12:00-13:00 – Dawns i Bawb Workshop- Cymru Ni

14:00-16:00 - Film "The World Turned Upside Down"

 

Emma Quaeck, Gwynedd's Dementia Coordinator, said:

“The purpose of the day is to invite people to come along to find out how we can help support people affected by dementia in our communities - that includes the person with a diagnosis and family members.

“Most people these days know someone who has been affected by dementia, so this is a great opportunity to find out more.

“The day offers a variety of interactive events and is free of charge.”

Councillor Dilwyn Morgan said:

"I am extremely proud of the event which is a great opportunity to raise awareness and learn more about dementia and the support available here in Gwynedd. This event will be full of fun and will put a smile on everyone's face and I certainly encourage anyone to come along"
