Thanks to UK Shared Prosperity Fund money allocated by Cyngor Gwynedd, a range of projects providing advice and support to local businesses will be available during 2024. The support covers everything from how to make the most of innovative technology and opportunities to train the workforce, to advice on starting a business. 

Details of the support available from different projects are listed below so that Gwynedd businesses can find the support suited to their needs. 

The last few years have been very difficult for the business community but now Businesses in Gwynedd can receive support that will help you take the first steps towards reclaiming your business activities, either by restoring a previous business, expanding and improving your existing activities or by diversity into other sectors.

A review of your Business will be carried out so that new or better uses for identified skills, Equipment and property can be suggested as well as accessing any relevant funding opportunities for skills gaps, training and accreditation and purchasing new Equipment

The Dyfodol Digidol scheme is available for businesses in Gwynedd, from any sector, to improve your digital skills and technology knowledge, as well as providing an opportunity to network and strengthen the local supply chain and drive digital innovation in Gwynedd.

Employer Skills North Wales benefits businesses in Gwynedd by identifying skills-gaps and signposting employers to fully funded training aimed at facilitating business growth, safeguarding jobs and supporting the creation of new positions. Participating businesses can access a whole range of training delivered by Grŵp Llandrillo Menai along with specialist business provision through Busnes@LlandrilloMenai.

Businesses in Gwynedd can take advantage of cutting-edge training in decarbonisation, renewable energy, and retrofitting skills from Tŷ Gwyrddfai, Penygroes. The training provided enables individuals and businesses to develop skills in the rapidly evolving field of carbon reduction.

The Green Digital Academy is available for businesses to discover the value of using new digital technologies, accelerate efficiency, productivity, carbon reduction and to reduce costs. Working with a mentor, we can help you to evaluate your current position and undertake a diagnostic of your business, develop a plan to identify training and funding to support you to reduce your carbon footprint.

Cwmpas provide business support to social enterprises, so if you're thinking of starting a social enterprise or already running one and are looking to develop, support from Cwmpas is available.  They offer a range of services such as director training, creating policies, opening bank accounts and more.

Cwmpas are also specialists in employee ownership plans for businesses and can provide expert support to make plans a reality for existing businesses or anyone who is setting up an employee ownership business.

This scheme offers businesses a great opportunity to collaborate with Bangor University. The University are offering vouchers that can be used for support from a number of research and development projects, consultancy services, use of specialist equipment and much more.

The Enterprise Hub is here to help you start a business through holding events, one-to-one support, Miwtini sessions and much more.

SMART Towns is working to install community WiFi on high streets across Gwynedd and Anglesey. The technology can collect data displayed on the project's data platform, and support local businesses to use this data to inform business decisions, and to measure the impact of any interventions or events in the town.

The network hosts events to raise awareness of the decarbonisation support available to businesses in the area.  This promotes activities that enable, support and guide businesses and organisations on business growth, whilst aiming for Net Zero and boosting the circular economy. 

A Workforce Skills Improvement Grant is available to support businesses for their employees to train and develop their skills. Information about how to apply will be available soon.
