An overview of Cyngor Gwynedd's work over the past year

Date: 03/11/2023

Cyngor Gwynedd has published their annual report for 2022-23, which describes what was achieved during the year.

Councilor Dyfrig Siencyn, Leader of Cyngor Gwynedd, said: "The report describes what was done during the past year, as well as measuring the success of our projects. It highlights the successes and shows where work still needs to be done.

"Once again it has been a year full of challenges, but I was pleased to see so many examples of success and innovation as well. We managed to bring over 100 empty houses back into use, and as part of the first scheme of its kind for 30 years by the Council, land was bought to build houses for local people.

"Another highlight was our progress towards a Gwynedd Autism Plan. A program is now in place to raise awareness and increase the support available to families and individuals living with a neurodevelopmental condition.

"It was good to see our services re-engage with some of the familiar arrangements that existed before the pandemic, while at the same time holding on to the best of the new elements introduced over the last three years.

"I would like to say a big thank you to all the Council's staff for their dedication. I am looking forward to seeing how our new projects will develop, and to see the positive impact they will have on the lives of the people of Gwynedd."
