Exciting opportunities for Gwynedd businesses

Local businesses will get the chance to bid for work with Cartrefi Cymunedol Gwynedd (CCG) and Gwynedd Council over the next few months.

CCG is to hold a Meet the Buyer event at the Tŷ Menai, Parc Menai, Bangor between 5:30 and 6:30pm on September the 7th in conjunction with Gwynedd Council.

The aim of the event is to engage with local businesses and contractors on tendering opportunities with CCG and Gwynedd Council on a 10 year renewal programme to renew the water infrastructure within a number of estates across Gwynedd so that a new system which meets current standards is in place.

The estates are made up of a mixture of both CCG and private homes on CCG estates.

Ffrancon Williams, Chief Executive at CCG said: “This event is a chance for local contractors and building companies to discuss informally the tendering process for this project. We are looking for businesses that can carry out work on the potable water infrastructure on our estates and install new water service connections in some of the properties. I would encourage contractors who work in this field to get in touch and to attend the event. Supporting the local economy is important to us.”

Councillor John Wynn Jones, Gwynedd Council Cabinet Member for Environment added: “Over the coming years, the Council will be working with Cartrefi Cymunedol Gwynedd to implement a programme to renew water supply pipes for former council-house estates in the county. This provides an exciting opportunity for local firms, and as a Council we are eager to encourage as many local companies as possible to attend the Meet the Buyer event to learn more about the opportunities available.”

The intention is to set up a framework of suitable contractors to undertake the works on behalf of CCG and Gwynedd Council

The session will be informal and will begin with a short presentation, followed by a chance to learn more about the scheme and ask any questions that the businesses may have.  To learn more contact the procurement team at CCG on 01248 677338 or caffael@ccgwynedd.org.uk
