Scales and Tails – new exhibition at Storiel

A new display is now on-show in the foyer of Storiel on the theme reptiles, with snakes, crocodiles and tortoises some of the specimens that can be seen.

The items are on loan from Brambell Natural History Museum, School of Biological Sciences, Bangor University. Several of the specimens are in jars of fluid and are still used for teaching. The display has been curated by Melissa Green, a zoology student volunteer and will be in place until the end of August.

The exhibition is part of the “Engaging Collections: Widening Access to Gwynedd’s Heritage” project that is partly funded through the Heritage Lottery Fund with aims to improve access to Bangor University’s hidden museum collections. It offers local residents and visitors a chance to enjoy and learn about the vast variety of specimens on display.

Storiel in Bangor is open Tuesday - Saturday from 11am-5pm.
