Project summary: A scheme that provides specialist evaluation and mentoring support to businesses to improve their digital and Zero Net capabilities. It will support small and medium businesses to be more efficient, more productive, to reduce their carbon footprint, and save costs.

Project summary: The project will present a variety of cycling sessions and activities in Gwynedd to improve skills, build confidence and encourage people of all ages and abilities to cycle. The activities will include courses in schools, community prescription cycling sessions, older people's cycling sessions, free bike hire for disadvantaged young people and corporate well-being days.

Applicant: ALWAYS AIM HIGH EVENTS

Project summary:  Completion of part 1 of a larger scheme to develop an events Hub on the Glyn Rhonwy site, Llanberis. It includes the construction of a warehouse and multi-purpose space that could be used as an office / meeting room and available for hire by the community.

A multi authority scheme in Gwynedd, Môn, and Flint        
Project summary: The Skills and Innovation Voucher (SIV) scheme will support small or medium-sized businesses and graduate entrepreneurs to take advantage of Bangor University's expertise, facilities, skills, and talent relevant to their research and development needs. Vouchers can be used against the costs of consultants, specialist space or courses.

A multi authority scheme in Gwynedd and Môn        
Project summary: The project will maintain and develop the Hwb Menter business support service, providing information, advice, networking opportunities, and space for entrepreneurs to develop their initial ideas into a successful business. The Hwb Menter will also provide SMART Gwynedd and Anglesey activities that promote the use of SMART technology in towns in the area.

A multi authority scheme in Gwynedd and Conwy     
Project summary: Activities that enable, support and guide businesses and organizations across all sectors on business growth, while aiming for Zero Net and promoting the circular economy. Key elements include creating awareness of major decarbonisation projects in the area and giving providers a platform to raise awareness of the support available.

Project summary: Making essential improvements to existing workshops, improving their energy efficiency, and ensuring that they are suitable for use by local businesses to create and maintain jobs for years to come.

Applicant: CWMNI BRO ANTUR AELHAEARN (1974)

Project summary: Purchase of a bakery site in Llanaelhaearn which includes two empty buildings, with the aim of ensuring continuity for a local business. The scheme will also modernize the bakery by developing a renewable energy scheme to reduce costs.

Applicant: BANGOR UNIVERSITY
Total UKSPF Gwynedd funding: £400,000        
Project summary: The project will engage with the fishing sector across the County to assess the need, with the intention of creating a more resilient and diverse sector. This project will help retain experience and facilitate diversification while supporting a strong maritime heritage and sustainable skills. Training activities and the trial of new techniques related to the industry will use the University's resources.

Applicant: ADRA (TAI) CYFYNGEDIG
Total UKSPF Gwynedd funding: £400,000
Project summary: A joint project with Bangor University which will include the construction of two atmospherically controlled chambers, for controlled tests of building materials in various and extreme environmental conditions. This unique facility will play a key role in accelerating progress towards low carbon and net zero housing design.

Total UKSPF Gwynedd funding: £1,800,000 
Project summary: The purpose of the project is to provide Gwynedd businesses with the help, information, and financial support that they need to start, develop, and thrive. There are five work streams in the package, offering the most appropriate support to the County's businesses, namely:

• Implementing Cyngor Gwynedd’s business engagement strategy,
• Community Catalysts Project,
• Recharge Project,
• Digital Platform Project, and
• Business Support Fund

The Business Support Fund offers two different strands available to businesses – Business Development Funds (Spark and Transformation) and Property Improvement Grants. A total of £1.7 million is available to support businesses, which is a combination of UKSPF funding, a direct contribution from Cyngor Gwynedd, and a contribution from the Welsh Government.  

The fund has now been paused - it was possible to apply for small grants under £25k and grants between £25k and £250k for each type of grant.  There was an open call from August 2023 for businesses across Gwynedd to submit grant applications, and applications totalling over £10.7 million were received.
