Have your say on Gwynedd’s future

Gwynedd Council is calling on local people to help shape the county’s future by voicing their opinions on its Strategic Plan for 2012-13.

Gwynedd Council aims to ensure the best for the people of Gwynedd today and tomorrow. The Strategic Plan sets out how the Council intends to achieve this aim by detailing proposal and specific projects and also some key areas in which it will be developing ideas during the year for implementation from 2013 onwards.

Gwynedd Council is looking for public opinion on its draft Strategic Plan for the period 2012-13, which concentrates on six particular areas:

  • The Economy
  • Care
  • Children and Young People
  • Environment
  • Health
  • Language

Gwynedd Council Leader, Councillor Dyfed Edwards said:

“Developing a strategy like this will enable us to concentrate on the main priorities that make the biggest difference to the county and its people.

“Ensuring that projects and ideas outlined in the strategic plan meet the needs of Gwynedd residents is one of the Council’s key priorities, and we hope Gwynedd residents will take the time to share their comments with us.

“A consultation on our plans from 2013 onwards will be carried out during the autumn, and we look forward to undertaking this work together with our partners so that we can help make a real difference to the lives of Gwynedd’s residents.”

Those who wish to see a copy of the draft Strategic Plan – and details on how to share their opinions – should visit the Council’s website www.gwynedd.gov.uk/strategicplan . The closing date to submit all comments on the plan is Tuesday, 28 August 2012.

Gwynedd Council will be preparing a new Strategic Plan for the period from 2013 onwards over the autumn. Visit the Council’s website www.gwynedd.gov.uk/strategicplan to find out how to participate in the development process and how to receive the latest information about events which will be taking place over the coming months.
