Since 12 April 2010 the ownership and management of all Gwynedd council houses has been transferred to Cartrefi Cymunedol Gwynedd.

This means that Cartrefi Cymunedol Gwynedd is now responsible for a number of services which were previously provided by Gwynedd Council.  These include:

• rent collection
• allocation of homes
• day-to-day repairs
• improvements to homes and estates
• estate management
• tenant involvement
• Cartrefi Cymunedol Gwynedd’s housing waiting list

Gwynedd Council will still be responsible for certain housing services. These include:

• the county’s housing waiting list
• securing accommodation for homeless people
• housing benefit
• the housing strategy
• working with Registered Social Landlords and private developers on new developments and regeneration schemes
