You are welcome to pop down to the Tennis Centre and take part. You can enjoy a game or two followed by a delicious tub of strawberries and cream whilst you watch the leading tennis players of the world playing on the big screen. Although you don’t need a partner to participate in this day, you are advised to book early to secure your place as spaces are limited to 12.
Ian Preston, the Gwynedd Development Coach based at Arfon Tennis Centre said:
“We have tennis social mornings in the Centre every Friday, but we thought we’d have an extra one this month whilst Wimbledon is on. We hope to target and encourage a few more people who enjoy tennis to visit the Centre and join in. We have excellent facilities here and we’d like to see more benefiting from them.”
Healthy Gwynedd Portfolio Leader, Councillor Paul Thomas has welcomed the event:
“This is a great opportunity for people of all abilities to get involved in tennis and get active. Gwynedd Council is committed to encouraging people to live healthier lives by taking more physical exercise and eating a balanced diet. We want to ensure that taking part in healthy activities becomes a normal part of every day life for all the people in Gwynedd.”
