Llwyddo’n Lleol which was established by Gwynedd Council ten years ago has been a cornerstone to develop the economy in the county by providing local residents with the skills so that they can succeed in their communities.

The initiative has now expanded over the north-west Wales area, and is arming local people with the desire and ability to succeed and contribute towards  the prosperity of rural communities.

Gwynedd Council Leader, Councillor Dyfed Edwards, said:

“Over the past decade, the innovative Llwyddo’n Lleol project has gone from strength to strength and it is wonderful that we can come together on the Eisteddfod yr Urdd to celebrate the success of our young people.

“Without doubt, the project has proven to be a huge success and a great example of what can be achieved to boost the local economy when the public sector and the business world work together towards the same goal.”

Councillor John Wynn Jones, the Council’s Economy Portfolio Leader, added:

“In the coming years, there will be a specific focus on the work of encouraging new businesses in the area to make the best possible use of the latest web-based technology.

“In this respect, there will be a real link between Llwyddo’n Lleol and the Digital Gwynedd project in order to allow our businesses and local enterprises to make the most of new technology.

“Our aim through the Digital Gwynedd scheme is to develop the use of information technology in the county and we are working closely with the Welsh Government to ensure that everyone has good broadband connection so that we can realise a totally digital Gwynedd.”
