Gwynedd Council will be leading on a project which is funded through Visit Wales’ Green Seas program, the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government and Gwynedd Council.
With new and modern facilities, suitable for all users in Morfa Bychan, it is hoped this development will be an important step towards gaining the International Blue Flag award for the beach.
Councillor John Wynn Jones, Gwynedd Council's Portfolio Leader for Economy and Community said:
“This is an important project for us as a Council – this investment of £250,000 in Morfa Bychan to improve the visitor experience to the beach by providing high quality facilities. We are extremely pleased that we have been able to secure grant funding to develop these particular toilets and facilities in Morfa Bychan.”
Local Councillor, Selwyn Griffiths added : “It’s good news for the beach and the community that facilities are being improved at Morfa Bychan, we hope that improving the provision will help us gain the Blue Flag Award for Morfa Bychan”
The new facilities at Morfa Bychan will include baby changing point, disabled toilet, first aid station; external showers a fresh water fountain and information point.
