Hywel James, Gwynedd Council’s Principal Librarian said:
“We are very grateful to the users of Dolgellau Library in the recent consultation. Their opinion is extremely important and we are confident that the new opening hours responds to their requirements for the library within the resources that are available.
“Around a hundred Dolgellau Library users took part in the consultation, with the majority of them in favour of the change. In response to the comments of the users, the library will remain open on Wednesday morning and the library will be open every day except for Sunday.
“Our aims as we introduce the revised opening times are to ensure a quality service at every one of Gwynedd’s libraries and to maintain fairer staffing levels throughout the library service.
“The Dolgellau Library is a very important resource in the area with a wide-range of books, DVDs and CDs available to lend, as well as the public computers which are available to use free of charge. The library is open Monday to Saturday – if you haven’t used it recently, why not go on and have a look at the fantastic resources which are available to you.”
