Slow broadband connection? £1,000 grant available!
Up to £1,000 is available from the Welsh Government for individuals, communities, businesses and third sector organisations who receive a slow broadband service of less than 2Mbps through their telephone line. The money will help to secure a better connection through alternative means such as satellite, wireless or a 3G mobile connection.
£2 million is available across Wales, appointed on a first come, first serve basis.
For further information go to www.wales.gov.uk/broadband, phone 02920 823765 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
An individual applicant can apply for up to £1,000 or a group of applicants can come together to make a joint application for a local network. (Every applicant within the consortium would be eligible for up to £1,000 each so a consortium of 20 members could be eligible for £20,000).
You can ask the Welsh Government to consider paying the provider directly for supplying the new connection. This would mean the applicant would not need to pay any upfront costs.
