The Ysgol Yr Hendre Community Fund is now open

Wynne Construction, the company which is building the new Ysgol yr Hendre in Caernarfon on behalf of Gwynedd Council has earmarked a sum of £3,000 to be distributed as grants to community groups for projects which will benefit people in the school’s catchment area.

Chris Wynne, Wynne Construction Managing Director said: “All of us at Wynne Construction are very proud to be associated with the construction of Ysgol yr Hendre and I hope that establishing this grant fund will contribute, in a positive way, to community life in the area”.
Councillor Dyfed Edwards, Leader of Gwynedd Council, added: “The construction of the new Ysgol yr Hendre is a very important development in Caernarfon of course. As a Council, we welcome this fund which has been set up in the wake of the development - the money will provide groups in the area with an ideal opportunity to develop projects which will benefit the local community.”
Gwynedd Council’s Regeneration Unit will administer the grant - applications for sums of up to £500 will be accepted from each group. But please hurry - the closing date for receiving applications is Friday, 9 September 2011.
If you would like an application form, please contact Heather Williams,  Gwynedd Council, on 01286 679 153 or or Dafydd E. Jones, Regeneration Officer, on 01286 871 920 or
