Changes to waste collections - Dwyfor Area

(go to the bottom of the page for information about the Meirionnydd and Arfon area)

A new waste collection service has been introduced in the Dwyfor area.

The residual waste collection service for Dwyfor – that is the green wheelie bin or three black sacks for the few leftover things that cannot be recycled or composted, such as polythene or ashes - will be collected every three weeks instead of the current fortnightly collection.

There will be no change to other collections in Dwyfor:

  • recycling (blue box / Cartgylchu) – no change, weekly collection continue
  • food waste (brown food bin) – no change, weekly collections continue
  • garden waste (brown wheelie bin) – no change, collection every two weeks.

If you live in Dwyfor, you will receive an information pack through the post explaining the new arrangements to collect your residual waste. This pack contains:

  1. details of your collection day
  2. recycling and waste collection calendar for the year ahead
  3. simple flyer with information about all the materials that can be collected in the weekly recycling and food waste collections
  4. information on how to contact the Council if you have any questions about the new arrangements.

For further information view the video on YouTube.

Why are the collections changing?
There are four main reasons for changing the collections - see the waste information leaflet.

Meirionnydd and Arfon areas
