New and recent work by Glyn Baines and Iwan Bala, both from the Bala area, will be on display in Gallery 1 and photographs by Dwyfor Camera Club will be shown in Gallery 2.
Glyn Baines has been an active member of the local art scene for more than 40 years, not only as a well known artist, but he has also inspired generations of budding artists as former head of the art department at Ysgol y Berwyn, Bala.
Iwan Bala, who is originally from the Penllyn area but now lives in Cardiff, has exhibited his work the world over to critical acclaim and has been recognised here in Wales by winning prestigious prizes such as the Gold Medal at the National Eisteddfod and the Owain Glyndwr Medal for his contribution to the arts. He is also a familiar face in the Welsh media having contributed to several television programmes and publications.
The exhibition will be opened by John Meirion Morris, artist and sculptor from Llanuwchllyn, on Friday, 31 October at 7pm. Admission free.
A different form of art will be on show in Gallery 2 throughout November, with an exhibition by Dwyfor Camera Club.
This year sees a double celebration for the club – as it marks its silver anniversary it can also boast the title of North Wales Photographic Association (NWPA) club champions , and will be representing North Wales in the print category of the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) in the national inter federation competition.
Admission to this exhibition is also free.
