Council Elections

The Council elections are held every four years on the first Thursday in May.

The Council elections were held on Thursday, 1 May 2008.

On 1 May, there was an opportunity to cast two votes:

  • a vote to elect a County Councillor for your electoral division, and
  • a vote to elect a Community Councillor for your community.


County Councillors' Election
The election results can be seen by clicking on the heading on the left. 

By clicking on the other heading on the left you can also view the results of the last Council elections held on 10 June 2004.


Community Councillors' Election

You can see the number of seats in your community and if an election will be held by visiting the Community Councils page. The Community Council election results will also be published on the Community Council’s page once they have been confirmed.
