Harlech Swimming Pool

As a result of an electrical fault, Harlech Swimming Pool has had to be temporarily closed until further notice in order to protect the health and safety of members of the public and staff.

The Council is currently assessing the problem and we apologise for any inconvenience caused to members of the public.

A Council Working Party is currently reviewing the entire spectrum of leisure and sport activities on offer in Gwynedd and is investigating whether the provision currently on offer is suitable for meeting the Welsh Assembly Government’s aspirations as outlined in “Climbing Higher”.

The Sports Council for Wales has played an active part in this process, and it is expected that the Working Group’s recommendations will be published in the autumn and presented to the Development Scrutiny Committee for consideration in due course.

Inevitably, the Council’s precarious financial situation will impact upon the final decisions.
