What is Criw Celf?
An art club for children who have shown talent and/or a special interest in art.
Why hold the club?
There are plenty of opportunities to practice musical and performance skills in Gwynedd, but it has been identified that there is a gap in the opportunities for children who are interested in art to practice their skills.
Who are the tutors?
The club will employ professional and experienced artists for the sessions. Criw Celf has worked with artists Eleri Jones, Luned Rhys Parri, Tim Pugh, Geoff Bond, Karen Williams, Maria Hayes, Rachel Rosen, Amber Smitt and Heather Lowe in the past.
What does Criw Celf include?
- Members will be able to attend a program of one-day master classes in the company of professional artists who specialize in various art genres.
- Art trips to various locations.
- Each child will receive an art pack containing various quality art materials. The purpose of providing these packs will be to enable the children to practice drawing at home.
- An exhibition of the children's artwork.
In 2012-13 Criw Celf will start a new programme which will concentrate on digital art. Read the details here.
Is there a charge?
Most of the scheme is funded by Gwynedd Council, but every child will be required to pay an annual membership fee.
