Part 1 – Design Guide
The Council has prepared and approved a series of design guidance notes to ensure that developments are designed to the best possible standards. The guidance notes deal with a variety of aspects of development. However they cannot hope to cover all aspects of development. If you have any queries, particularly where the circumstances are unusual, a planning officer will be pleased to discuss your proposals before you make an application. You may also wish to talk to your neighbour(s) to let them know what you are proposing to do.
Part 1 of the Design Guide covers the following topics:
Part 2 – Landscape Guide
The Landscape Strategies for Anglesey and Gwynedd were both published in 1999. An important landscape strategy conclusion was the need to develop ways and means of ensuring that all parties with an interest in the landscape recognise the need to take into account and understand the differences in landscape character that exist across the area. Landscape design guides were developed to facilitate development that will ensure that local qualities are properly taken into account. The information is presented primarily in terms of the different Landscape Character Areas (LCAs) that have been identified. Separate guidance notes are included on agricultural landscapes and transport corridors as these design issues are common to all areas.
